Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District

The Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District is a dependent district of the Town of Loxahatchee Groves. The general purpose of the Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District is to provide for: 

  • Capital Projects
  • Debt Service
  • Road Rights-of-Way and Easement
  • Storm Water Management

The Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District was created in April 1917 under the provisions of Chapter 189, Florida Statutes). Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District is responsible for providing drainage for flood control, constructing and maintaining canals, and other drainage works to make the area habitable for settlement and agriculture, and providing water and sewer services.

The District owns, operates, and maintains works for water management and regulates their use by others. The Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District is located within Palm Beach County Florida, encompassing roughly 8,000 acres. The water management system generally includes a network of approximately 12.5 square miles with 29 miles of unpaved roads and 30 miles of canals in Northern Palm Beach County, and associated pumps and water control structures.
