2026 Municipal General Election Information

  • Loxahatchee Groves Municipal General Election is nonpartisan and is held on the second Tuesday in March, in accordance with Section 7 of the Town’s Charter. Qualified electors of the Town elect a Councilmember-Seat 1 and Councilmember-Seat 5.  
  • The next Municipal General (Nonpartisan) Election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
  • Offices up for Election are:
    • Councilmember-Seat 1, unexpired one-year term ending March 2027.
    • Councilmember-Seat 5, three-year term ending March 2029.
  • Polling Location: The Palms West Presbyterian Church, 13689 Okeechobee Blvd., Loxahatchee Groves, Florida, 33470
  • Precinct Number: 4401

QUALIFYING DATES FOR CANDIDATES:

Per Chapter 2, Article II, Section 2-20, any resident of the town who wishes to become a candidate for a council member seat shall qualify with the Town Clerk no sooner than noon on the second Tuesday of November, no later than noon on the third Tuesday in November.  *Note: The second Tuesday of November is Veterans’ Day, which is a recognized holiday, and the Town Hall will be closed.

  • 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 18, 2025

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR OFFICE

(a) Filing. Each candidate for council member shall file a written notice of candidacy with the town clerk at such time and in such manner as may be prescribed by ordinance and shall make payment to the town of any fees required by general law as a qualifying fee.

(b) Registered elector. Each candidate for council member shall be a registered elector in the state.

(c) Residency. Each candidate for council member shall have maintained his or her domicile within the boundaries of the town for a period of 1 year prior to qualifying for election and, if elected, shall maintain such residency throughout his or her term of office.

(d) Deadline. Any resident of the town who wishes to become a candidate for a council member seat shall qualify with the town clerk at such time as may be prescribed by ordinance.

Important Information

To be eligible to vote on March 10, 2026, you must be a registered voter in Loxahatchee Groves and in Precinct 4401. Below are important dates and deadlines:

  • Deadline to register to vote: Tuesday, February 9, 2026
  • Deadline to request that a Vote-by-Mail (VBM) ballot be mailed to you, Thursday, February 26, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
  • Deadline to return your VBM ballot, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, by 7:00 p.m., to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections main office or by 5:00 p.m. to a Branch Office or Secure Ballot Intake Station
