Dear Loxahatchee Groves Residents,
With hurricane season coming to an end, the Public Works Department is offering residents the opportunity to trim/prune their trees and dispose of any debris you may have. Being part of a rural community means we have a lot of lush greenery resulting in overgrowth and the possibility of damage to town roads, right of way, vehicles, etc. Coastal Waste & Recycling has agreed to collect debris in hopes of creating a safer environment. They are proposing to pick up debris on the first two Saturdays of December. The North side of Okeechobee Blvd. will be picked up on December 2, 2023, and the South side of Okeechobee Blvd. will be picked up on December 9, 2023.
We urge the residents to take advantage of the opportunity being presented to them to clean up the overgrowth of their property of any issues that may cause reduced visibility on our Town roads and damage to the town's mowing equipment. To ensure that you avoid a notice of violation of Ordinance No. 2017-21, please remove any overgrowth prior to December 9, 2023.
Please note: This is specifically for the overgrowth of canal maintenance banks and the overgrowth of town roadways only. This is not an opportunity for you to clear your property or cut down trees. If you wish to partake in such activities, please reach out to the building department to obtain the required permits.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, we sincerely hope you participate.
Francine Ramaglia, Town Manager
